(pics current august 1999)

The ferris wheel was one of the Worlds earliest and most common amusement devices. The ferris at Chippewa Lake still stands with the cars removed. A tree grows through the center and covers most of the wheel. The sight is very powerful and really defines the entire experience of the abandoned amusement park. The motor and belts are still entact, but I doubt this wheel will turn again. The structure is very rusty, but stands proud on the shoreline of Chippewa Lake. My favorite picture of all is feature on this page!

There is a tree growing right through the center Motor with Belts not rotted Close up Motor with the Belts & Clutch A tool box left behind under the wheel
My favorite picture Close up of tree Notice the cars have been removed Good view of structure
